HONORS ALUMNI AT ANNUAL DINNER
INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI honored two of its alumni for their years of service to the campus at the annual Alumni Leadership Awards dinner on Feb. 22 at the NCAA Headquarters Ballroom, 750 W. Washington St.
Rolls-Royce manager and engineer H. Eugene Hunt and Indiana Court of Appeals Judge Margret G. Robb received the Maynard K. Hine medal, named in honor of the late first chancellor of IUPUI and former dean of the IU School of Dentistry, at the dinner. The Alumni Association has presented the award since 1974.
Hunt has been actively involved as an alumnus since his graduation from the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI with a bachelor's of science degree. He has been a member of the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI Alumni Board of Directors, and has served as both president and vice-president.
Hunt has not limited his activities to working with alumni. He also serves on the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Industrial Advisory Committee for the electrical engineering technology department and has been an advisor to the dean. Hunt also briefly taught an electrical engineering technology class after graduating.
Hunt currently works for Rolls-Royce as a cost reduction manager in energy and marine operations. He has developed a program resulting in a savings of $55 million over the past 5 years
For the past ten years, Robb has been an active member of the IU School of Law-Indianapolis Alumni Association, serving as president, vice-president and treasurer. She also lent her expertise as an attorney advisor for the school's student research cooperative and as a participant in the school's Judge Moot Court. Robb also helped organize Indiana Law Update 1999 which raised money for the alumni association for scholarships.
Robb worked in private practice for 20 years until 1998 when she joined the Fifth District, Indiana State Court of Appeals. Robb graduated from the IU School of Law-Indianapolis in 1978. She currently lives in West Lafayette.
