Food, fun and festivities for all ages will be the order of the day, Sunday, October 14, from noon- 4 p.m. at the free IUPUI Jaguars Family FunFest. The event, hosted by IUPUI Chancellor Gerald Bepko, is open to the public and will be held in the parking lot at University Avenue and New York Street.

IUPUI faculty and staff who RSVP will receive free athletic tickets and family fun pack. This annual event is an opportunity for Chancellor Bepko to recognize and thank IUPUI faculty, staff - and their families.

Call (317) 274-2134 or e-mail: kryoung@iupui.edu today to RSVP. You're also invited to stop by the IUPUI VIP Tent to meet and greet Chancellor Bepko from 12:30-1:30 p.m. during the FunFest. The tent will be open at the Track & Soccer Stadium from noon to 4 p.m. for faculty and staff to stop by for refreshments, and to redeem their coupon for their Family Fun Pack.

Clowns, magicians, professional storytelling, games, prizes, soccer, volleyball, world drum exhibit, and much more will be on hand. Activities and demonstrations sponsored by IUPUI include caricatures drawn by Herron School of Art students, rides on the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology's moon buggy, and the IUPUI electric racecar. Attendees can also hear stories told by the School of Library and Information Science, dig for artifacts with the anthropology department, try out and make percussion instruments with the Music Academy, and participate in an interactive drumming area hosted by the School of Music. Plus, visitors can meet the IUPUI men's and women's basketball teams, IUPUI mascot Jinx the Jaguar, and the university police with their horse patrol.

Community-sponsored activities and demonstrations include the Indianapolis-Marion County Library bookmobile, the Indy Parks Park Ranger Nature Exhibit, clowns and face painting. Games include an obstacle course from the National Institute of Fitness and Sport, the Colts' football throw, the Pacers' basketball hoop, the Indians' baseball toss and more.

The IUPUI volleyball team and the men's and women's soccer teams also have games during the FunFest. The women's soccer team faces Detroit at noon and the men's soccer team plays Wisconsin-Greenbay at 2 p.m. The women's volleyball team takes on South Missouri State at 2 p.m. Both soccer games will be at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium, 1001 W. New York St. The volleyball game will be in the IUPUI gymnasium at the IUPUI Natatorium, 901 W. New York St.

During halftime of the soccer games, four youth soccer teams will battle it out for the Chancellor's Cup. Chancellor Bepko will start the game with the customary coin toss.
