IUPUI TO HOST BASS
FISHING UNIVERSITY
INDIANAPOLIS - When the bass just aren't biting, where do you go?
Back to school.
IUPUI is hosting BASSMASTER University from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 at Beech Grove High School, 5330 E. Hornet Ave., Beech Grove. Classes will begin at 8 a.m. and will recess at 3 p.m. both days. Instructors will also hold question-and-answer sessions from 3 - 3:30 p.m. each day.
The two-day event offers anglers a unique opportunity to "go back to school" and get eyeball to eyeball with America's top bass fishing professionals in order to learn how to eliminate the luck factor and consistently reel in bigger and more bass.
Six top pros are the instructors, including 1998 BASS Masters Classic Champion Denny Brauer. Brauer also won the 1987 Angler of the Year title and is bass finishing's all time leading money winner having won over 1.5 million dollars for catching bass.
Other instructors include three-time BASS Angler of the Year Kevin VanDam, and the 2000 BASS Masters Classic Champion Woo Daves.
BASSMASTER University covers mainstream techniques such as plastic worms, crankbaits, and spinner baits, as well as lesser-known techniques such as fishing the floating worm, finesse fishing, and electronics.
The cost is $99 per participant.
