UNIVERSITY
COLLEGE STUDENT COUNCIL RAFFLES PACERS TICKETS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CANCER TREATMENTS
FOR IUPUI STUDENT
INDIANAPOLIS
- The University College Student Council (UCSC) is sponsoring a fund-raising drive
to help pay the mounting medical bills of Laura Culp, a member of the IUPUI volleyball
team who plans to be a teacher one day.
Money raised through the drive will go to the family of Laura Culp, who faces
expenses for specialized cancer treatment in excess of $25,000.
UCSC representatives will sell raffle tickets for four Indiana Pacers tickets
and a parking pass for the Pacers game against the Chicago Bulls on December 7,
2001 at 7 p.m. in the Conseco Fieldhouse.
The face value of each ticket is $140.00. Ernst & Young donated these tickets
and parking pass. Any interested IUPUI community individual may contact Bret Shambaugh,
UCSC Advisor, to assist in the selling of these raffle tickets. Individual raffle
tickets may be purchased for $5 or three tickets for $10.
UCSC representatives will be at Raffle Ticket tables during the following dates
and times and locations:
The drawing for the winning tickets will be held at 5 p.m. November 30 in Room
3100 in University College. The winner will be contacted by telephone.
In addition to the raffle tickets, the Papa Johns store located adjacent to the
IUPUI campus at 955 Indiana Avenue will contribute 20 percent of its December
6, 2001 sales to the UCSC fund-raising efforts. This store's telephone number
is (317) 632-7272. The University College Student Council urges the Jaguar Community
to purchase as much pizza as possible from this Papa Johns location on December
6.
UCSC Representatives are also seeking additional merchandise in order to conduct
additional raffles.
Any interested person may also contribute funds directly to the Laura Culp Cancer
Fund by sending a check made payable to: Laura Culp Cancer Fund. Checks should
be sent to the Home Federal Savings Bank; P.O. Box 648, Seymour, IN 47274.
