We often hear that students learn and retain more when they’re actively engaged in the learning process, but how can faculty structure the learning environment to get students engaged?
A symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 112:30 p.m., Sept. 26, 2008, will feature faculty who employ a variety of active learning strategies in their classes ranging from relatively quick and easy ways of enlivening lectures, cooperative learning techniques and instructional technology to more involved strategies such as problem-based learning, service learning, or undergraduate research.
