Author Carol Tavris, Ph.D., will present a plenary lecture titled, "Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me): What Cognitive Dissonance Theory Reveals About Cheating, Justice, Love, Memory, Medicine...and the Rest of Life" from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in Van Nuys Medical Science Building, Room B26.

Immediately following the lecture, a book signing, co-sponsored by Barnes & Noble Booksellers, will take place in the Medical Science Atrium.

Tavris also will present "Looking Backward, Moving Forward: Progress and Pitfalls on the Path to Equality" at a luncheon from noon to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in the Medical Science Atrium.
