Dr. David Jan Cowan of the School of Engineering and Technology was honored as the 2008 IUPUI Student Supervisor of the Year during the Student Employment Week Celebration on April 17, 2008. Derek Ogle nominated Cowan for the award.

Student supervisors are very important in the development of their students. Ogle worked alongside Cowan on several different research projects. He learned how to be a better researcher, writer and presenter while being guided in the research process by his role model.
