Campus police recently reported an increase in larceny from vehicles in the past several weeks.

The larcenies have occurred in numerous locations, specifically surface parking lots; and at various times from mid-morning to late afternoon. In the majority of the incidents, perpetrators have gained access inside the vehicles by breaking a window.

Items taken include a few catalytic converters and in-dash stereos, but the majority of the incidents involve electronic items, including GPS units, left in view through a window.

IUPUI Police encourage campus motorists to secure all valuables and electronic accessories inside their vehicles so that they are not visible from the outside.
