Turkey and the Tumultuous Middle East: IUPUI's Live Link, April 4

Turkey has great interest in state-building efforts in Iraq. It has close historical and cultural ties with the Turkomans, or Iraqi Turks, who live in northern Iraq, who would be adversely impacted if Kurdish groups succeeded in their bid for independence in the oil and gas-rich Mousul and Kirkuk districts.
