Art Appraiser/Author to Discuss Business of Being an Artist

You have your portfolio; you're a good artist, maybe the next Picasso, Michelangelo or Green. But is that enough in the twenty-first century? Do you fully understand the business of fine art?

Art appraiser and author Halima Taha will share the history, the reality and the facts you need to know about the art industry and the business of being an artist during a lecture at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, in Basile Auditorium, Herron School of Art and Design, 735 West New York St. The lecture is free of charge to the public.

Taha is recognized throughout the United States as a leading authority on collecting African American art and arts management. For more than 20 years, she has contributed to the field as an appraiser, art advisor, educator and lecturer.
