International Service Learning Study Abroad Program in Jamaica

Experience Jamaica through cultural immersion and community service during a study abroad program from July 16 through August 13, 2007. Participants will live with families in a fishing village in southwestern Jamaica, run a day camp to promote civic engagement for the youth, learn how to consider the specifics of Jamaican culture and service within local, national, and international contexts, work with a local non-profit and artisans, and much more.

This unique program begins with three classes held in the United States prior to departure for Jamaica (schedule based upon student and faculty availability). Program participants will be in Jamaica from July 16 to August 13, 2007, and then will again attend three classes in the United States upon return (again based upon student and faculty availability). Deadline for applications is February 15.
