“Inside the War on Terror”

IUPUI Professor Scott Bates will be the keynote speaker at a meeting of the Indianapolis Committee on Foreign Relations. He will present "Inside the War on Terror" at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at the Woodstock Club on 38th Street across from the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Bates is a visiting professor at IU School of Law-Indianapolis. He teaches international law and international human rights law. He has served the public in a number of state and federal government positions, including as Secretary of State of Virginia and in senior-level Congressional staff positions. Overseas, Bates has participated extensively in American efforts to encourage democratic development and combat the threat of terrorism.
