C.S. Pierce Lecture
University of Helsinki researcher Mats Bergman will talk about the ideals and practices of C.S. Pierce during an IUPUI lecture on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006.
Bergman will present “C. S. Peirce on Scientific Ideals and Philosophical Practices” at 6 p.m., Oct. 25 at the Institute of American Thought, located in Room 0014 in the basement of the Education and Social Work (ES) building on the IUPUI campus, 902 West New York St.
In his IUPUI lecture, Bergman, whose primary research interest is Peirce’s sign-theoretical rhetoric and its contemporary relevance, will pose a number of questions concerning the critical aims of philosophical inquiry, and provide some tentative answers to some of them.
