Walk for Kids to Benefit Central Indiana Mentor Program

College Mentors for Kids is hosting its fifth annual Central Indiana Walk for Kids on April 9, 2006. The 2.3 mile walk will start at the White River State Park at 801 W. Washington Street at 2 p.m., with registration at 1:30 p.m. Individual registration is $15.

Proceeds will help support six local chapters of College Mentors for Kids with program expenses. College Mentors for Kids Inc., is an innovative, non-profit initiative that pairs at-risk, first- through fourth-graders with a college student mentor on a college campus for weekly activities focused on higher education and career, culture and diversity, and community service.

Events include the walk along the canal, an awards program, refreshments and an appearance from the Radio Now 93.1, Street Phreaks.
