Who Deserves a Biopic?
Dennis Bingham, associate professor of English and director of film studies, will address the topic “Who Deserves a Biopic?” as part of the Liberal Arts Sabbatical Speaker series from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Friday, March 31 in Cavanaugh Hall Room 508.
The film studies scholar will pick over politics and parody, creativity, convention, and posterity in Hollywood's most prestigious and least appreciated genre. From “The Story of Lewis Pasteur” and “Madame Curie” to “Walk the Line” and “Ray,” the biopic genre has signified an official entrance to the cultural pantheon.
To RSVP, call Annette Hill, anjhill@iupui.edu, (317) 278-1839.
