OPD Offers Services to Enhance Faculty Recruitment and Retention

All IUPUI administrators, faculty and staff are encouraged to use the resources of the Office for Professional Development to enhance the process of recruiting and retaining faculty. Two Web sites offer information on the support services available. Inquiries are welcome via the contact information on the respective Web sites:

• The IUPUI Faculty Recruitment Enhancement Project (FREP) http://www.opd.iupui.edu/frep/ is an ongoing effort to assist in enhancing the recruitment process for all faculty, with special attention to faculty diversity. The project involves a number of features, including collaborating with various campus administration, schools, departments, and programs of IUPUI to identify and develop model practices in recruitment.


• The Office for Multicultural Professional Development (OMPD) http://www.opd.iupui.edu/ompd/ is an advocacy unit that supports the recruitment and retention of faculty and academic staff from less-represented populations. OMPD serves on committees, consults with schools and departments, and works with individual faculty and academic staff.
