Day of Caring Project
The Office of External Affairs and the Center for Service and Learning are coordinating an on-campus service project as part of the United Way Day of Caring. IUPUI students will mentor YMCA middle school children who will help prepare care packages for families at the Julian Center.
The United Way Day of Caring is an annual event that sends IUPUI faculty, staff and students out into the community to work with nonprofit organizations. This year's event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17.
To volunteer as an individual or as a group, please sign up at www.iupui.edu/dayofcaring. Deadline for registration is 5 p.m. Sept. 7.
Those who can’t volunteer their time for the Day of Caring can make sure the day is a success by donating any of the following items:
- Shampoo (small size)
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste (small size)
- Soap
- Deoderant (travel size)
- Washcloth
Volunteers in the mentoring project will assemble the items for delivery to the Julian Center. Items can be dropped off at AO 109 anytime before Sept. 15.
