Filippo Menczer to Kick Off Fall CACR Speaker Series
Indiana University Associate Professor Filippo Menczer will present “Social Phishing” at noon Thursday, Sept. 8 in ICTC, Room IT 414.
Menczer will discuss the results of an experiment showing that people are over four times more likely to become victims of phishing scams if they are solicited by someone who appears to be someone they know. Participants will learn how easy it is for scammers to find information publicly available on the Web and then spoof the sender of an email.
This presentation is part of the Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research (CACR) Speaker Series. For additional information, see: http://cacr.iu.edu/.
