Academic Transformation Grant Program Deadline Approaches

The Academic Transformation Grant Program is intended to provide support to departments to explore, through closely watched experiments, how instructional technology can be used in dramatically different ways to produce both cost savings and improved student learning.

Grant proposals for the two grants to be awarded in fall 2005 are now being accepted. Funds will be awarded to departments to support faculty time or other academic unit expenses entailed in course development. An amount of $75,000 will be awarded per project to be paid at $25,000/year for the first year and $50,000 for the second year.

Departments would continue to recover the course tuition as usual after the project and ownership would be shared between the faculty member(s) and department as consistent with the shared ownership agreement. This is the third round of the Academic Transformation Grant Program.

The deadline for this grant is Sept. 12, 2005.
