Ransom Place Neighborhood Association Sponsors Indiana Avenue Tour
Learn more about the history of the IUPUI neighborhood during a progressive home tour sponsored by the Ransom Place Neighborhood Association, Inc.
Ransom Place, part of the Indiana Avenue Cultural District, was once home to numerous African American businesses, including Madame Walker’s beauty supply plant. Notable residents included Freeman Ransom, general manager of the Walker Company.
“A Taste of Ransom Place,” a progressive walking home tour takes place from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, July 24. The tour starts at the Ransom Place Museum & Learning Center, 830 Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Tickets, tax deductible, are $12 in advance; $15 on site. Proceeds benefit the Ransom Place Museum & Learning Center.
