Archaeologist to address “Skull Wars II”
The IUPUI Anthropology Club, School of Liberal, will present archaeologist David Hurst Thomas, Ph.D., curator of the American Museum of Natural History, as guest lecturer at 7 p.m., Friday, April 29 in the Informatics and Communication Technology Classroom (ICTC) Building, Room 152.
Dr. Thomas will present “Skull Wars II: Are We Still Fighting them? Repatriation in the 21st Century.” The lecture will trace the 500-year roots of the Kennewick Man controversy in an updated chronicle of the brutal massacres in which skulls of Native American warriors were used to build American museum collections.
