Conference in Child Psychiatry to Examine Depressive Disorder
The IU School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, will present the 28th Annual Arthur B. Richter Conference in Child Psychiatry April 21 and 22.This year’s theme is “Recent Developments in Assessment and Treatment of Depression in Children and Adolescents.”
Concern that antidepressant medications could increase the risk of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents has recently emerged as a challenge to pharmacological treatment. Visiting Professor Harold S. Koplewicz, M.D, a nationally recognized expert in the area of depressive disorder, will lead the conference in an exploration of the theme. Other speakers include faculty from the Department of Psychiatry.
