Recycling at IUPUI

The IUPUI Recycling Committee will host the first annual recycling and household hazardous waste drop off event from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 14 and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 15. The IUPUI community is invited to bring household and office recyclables to the Environmental Management Facility located west of the Union Building in parking lot 20. Free Tulip Tree seedlings will be given to the first 50 people each day who bring items to be recycled. Accepted recycling items range from aluminum cans to text books. Accepted “tox-away” items range from aerosol cans, to fluorescent light tubes, to used motor oil, to paints and paint thinners. A detailed list will be forth coming. The recycling event marks a new push to increase recycling and environmental awareness at IUPUI. For more information, contact the committee at recycles@iupui.edu.
