2010 Molecular Medicine in Action Applications Due Oct. 30

Time is running out to turn in applications for the 2010 Molecular Medicine in Action program at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Hospital for Children.

In its 11th year, the program offers 50 Indiana high-school students the opportunity on March 7-8, 2010, to work alongside some of the nation's top researchers in the labs of the Herman B. Wells Center for Pediatric Research on the Indiana University—Purdue University Indianapolis campus.

Packets were mailed to Indiana high schools, and science teachers should nominate students for participation. There is an online application form at www.wellscenter.iupui.edu/MMIA with a deadline of Oct. 30. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of Indiana biology and chemistry teachers, and selections will be made and students notified by Dec. 11, 2009.

Cultural Heritage Month Event Submission Form and Committee Participation

Six cultural heritage months are recognized on campus: Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), GLBT History Month (October), Native American Heritage Month (November), Black History Month (February), Women's History Month (March), and Asian Heritage Month (April).

Do you have an event that you would like to include in a particular cultural heritage month calendar? The cultural heritage month calendars will be distributed across campus. Including an event in the calendar would be a great way to publicize the good work happening in your area, and may increase the attendance at your event.

For additional information or to submit an event, visit http://life.iupui.edu/ccl/campus-programming/forms/culture_events.html.

Are you interested in participating in a particular cultural heritage month planning committee? Send event ideas and/or your name, email address, and the committee/s you are interested in joining to cclife@iupui.edu or contact (317) 274-3931.
