Flu Vaccination Clinics Schedule

The novel H1N1 flu virus is changing the flu vaccination process at IUPUI.

Infection control methods and vaccination are important methods to prevent flu transmission. This year's strategy is to provide vaccinations on a facility basis instead of being department-based.

November and December schedules are developed and will be used for H1N1 vaccinations. September and October clinics are being set for seasonal flu vaccine.

Please visit www.health.iupui.edu for additional information.

Reading at the Table: "Distrust, American Style"

Professor Sheila Suess Kennedy will read and discuss selections from "Distrust, American Style: Diversity and the Crisis of Public Confidence."

This book discusses research that suggests Americans have become less trusting of each other and implications for public organizations.

Kennedy notes the challenges to social trust from an increasingly complex modern society, including increased diversity, but argues we must focus on the principles and institutions that hold us together. Our ability to trust our neighbors depends upon our ability to "trust social and governing institutions," and Kennedy catalogues the ways in which institutions have betrayed trust over the past decade.
