Canoe Race on the Downtown Canal

The Student Organization for Alumni Relations, the IUPUI Alumni Council and the Central Indiana Chapter of the IUAA are hosting the inaugural IUPUI Regatta, a canoe relay race on the Downtown Canal, on Sept. 19, 2009. Students, alumni, and faculty/staff are invited to form teams to participate in this event, which will feature a community carnival with fun, food, and music. Teams will race against others in their respective categories, culminating in a final race between students, alumni, and faculty/staff. New IUPUI Website to Improve Services for Veterans
IUPUI's Office for Veterans and Military Personnel (OVMP) will use a $15,000 grant to develop a robust website that will enable students who are in the military or are veterans to access critical information anytime from anywhere.

In response to the growing challenges focused on global energy acquisition and use, close to 200 faculty from every campus at Indiana University will gather Aug. 6-7 to begin the process of formulating a comprehensive energy research plan for IU.
IU's energy plan will identify pressing challenges in Indiana and the nation, and ways IU can contribute to sustainable solutions.

Fresh out of high school from Indianapolis' Arsenal Technical High School where she thrived in an advanced health-related magnet program, Edmondson arrived at IUPUI last fall and considered teaching as a possible career.
