School of Engineering and Technology Announces New Administrative Appointments

In preparation for the 2009-10 academic year, several administrative changes are taking place at the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI.

Stephen Hundley will assume the role of associate dean for academic affairs and undergraduate programs on Aug. 1, 2009....

As Hundley serves in his new capacity, Eugenia Fernandez will become the chair for the Department of Computer, Information, and Leadership Technology. An associate professor of computer and information technology, Fernandez holds a doctorate in management information systems from Purdue University....

The school also appointed Elaine Cooney as chair of the Department of Engineering Technology, effective July 1, 2009. Cooney, a professor of electrical and computer engineering technology, has been with the university since 1987.

IUPUI Grad Among Outstanding Science, Math, Engineering Teachers and Mentors Honored by President Obama

President Obama today named more than 100 science, math, and engineering teachers and mentors, including a 2003 Masters graduate from the IU School of Edcuation at IUPUI, as recipients of prestigious Presidential Awards for Excellence. The educators will receive their awards in the Fall at a White House ceremony.

The IU School of Education graduate is Amy Knerr, a Clay Middle School math teacher. Her master's at IUPUI was in language arts. She has an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Butler University, with a minor in math and French.
