Soon after renovations to the IU School of Dentistry's Patient Admissions division were completed, the Clinical Affairs faculty and staff decided that the remodeled area could benefit from an additional element of privacy to further separate the bank of patient registration desks from the nearby reception seating. They went looking for a solution – and found it in the creative vision of two students from the Herron School of Art and Design.

Brown to Receive Educator Award from National Press Photographers Association

Garland Educator Award from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) at its national convention June 13, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nev. The award is given for outstanding service as a photojournalism educator.

Author of Doughnut History Judges Dunkin' Donuts Bake-off

Doughnuts

Billed as the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain, Dunkin' Donuts sells 52 varieties of doughnuts at more than 8,800 franchises worldwide.

On May 28, 2009, IUPUI anthropology Professor Paul Mullins, author of "Glazed America: A History of the Doughnut" helped the international company select a new Dunkin' doughnut for production.

More than 825 alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends participated recently in IU Alumni weekend reunions at IUPUI, with some alumni travelling as far away as Hawaii, Texas, California, Maryland, Arizona, and Florida to visit campus. IU Law-Indianapolis and the Schools of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, and Nursing held the alumni events.
