New Airport Opens Nov. 12, 2008

The Indianapolis International Airport will soon use a new terminal.

Starting Nov. 12, 2008, all airlines serving Indianapolis International Airport (IND) will relocate and operate out of the new Indianapolis airport built in the “midfield” area of the present airport.

Customers flying into the airport on or after Nov. 12, 2008, will arrive at the new airport located on Interstate 70 at Exit 68, just west of Interstate 465. The current terminal will close once the new airport opens.

A new parking garage and parking lot located nearer the new terminal will also open on Nov. 12.

Travelers should note that for trips that involve flying out of Indianapolis before Nov. 12 with a return date after Nov. 12, the departing flight will leave from the old terminal, but the returning flight will arrive at the new terminal. For these travelers, the airport will provide free shuttle services to the old terminal’s parking areas for those who have cars parked in those locations.
