1. 5th Annual IUPUI Hunger Banquet
The Hunger Banquet is a fundraiser and advocacy event that was developed to draw attention to the growing problem of hunger worldwide and the complexity of foreign aid campaigns. Come enjoy food representative of what citizens in less developed countries eat every day, multi-cultural dance performances, and keynote speaker Dr. Robert Einterz, AMPATH Consortium Director. All proceeds benefthe Tumaini Children's Center and the IU-Kenya Orphans and Vulnerable Children Fund in Eldoret, Kenya.

2. IUPUI Nonprofit Expo - Feb. 28
The third annual IUPUI Nonprofit Expo -- Thursday, February 28, 2013, in Campus Center room 450 from 1-4 p.m. -- brings together nonprofit, government and community partners that offer internship, volunteer and job opportunities to IUPUI students and alumni. Learn about the various organizations in our community and the opportunities they offer. Last year, more than 45 organizations participated in this IUPUI Career Services Council event.

3. Take Back The Night
Come join IUPUI Panhellenic Association in taking a stand against sexual violence with our Take Back The Night three day event. Be sure to join us in the self-defense course for women, an educational session, and finally the "Light the Night Walk". We are teaming up with CAPS and the Social Justice Education to educate men and women on how to combat sexual violence. Stand with us as we raise awareness to fight sexual violence on the in the IUPUI Community and beyond on February 26-28, 2013.

4. February is Financial Aid Awareness Month
Student Financial Aid Services wants to remind all students the 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available to file. Please visit www.fafsa.gov to complete your FAFSA. 5. Winter Driving Workshop

6. Now Hiring Two Lifeguards for Ten-week Positions at Camp Brosius
Located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, IU's Camp Brosius is seeking two lifeguards for this summer. If you would enjoy spending your summer by a beautiful lake, please apply! Food and lodging is included in these summer positions. Your lifeguard certification is reimbursable. Several Indy YMCAs are offering classes this spring.

11. 2013 Kellumpalooza Softball Tournament
The Organization of Kinesiology will be presenting its annual softball tournament in honor of the former dean on April 19. 14. IUPUI Veteran Honor Society Accepting Applications
IUPUI's chapter of SALUTE National Veterans Honor Society is accepting applications for 2013 induction. SALUTE recognizes the academic success and community leadership of student veterans. Undergraduates must have at least 3.0 GPA while graduate students must have at least 3.5. Applications must be submitted by March 12th. There is a $30 lifetime induction fee. Induction Ceremony is April 28th at Indiana War Memorial. Information forthcoming on Student Veteran of Year and Supporter Awards.

20. Parallel Programming Workshop
IUPUI: February 12, 2013, 9:30am-5:00pm
IT 127, ICTC building

The strength of IU's supercomputers lies in their ability to harness multiple processors to accomplish a single task. This workshop will introduce the concepts of threads and message passing to accomplish this task. The workshop will contain both a lecture and a hands-on lab. Minimum requirements are only a working knowledge of the LINUX/UNIX operating system.

22. Global Health Talk on Child and Maternal Health
Timmy Global Health will be sponsoring a global health talk by Dr. James Lemons on maternal and child health in Kenya on Monday, February 11th from 4:30-5:30pm in CE409. Dr. Lemons, a neonatologist and professor at IU School of Medicine, has had extensive experience working as a humanitarian and helped establish the Riley Mother Baby Hospital in Kenya. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.

Most unmarried young adults feel strongly that pregnancy should be planned and think it is important to avoid unplanned pregnancy. Yet, most young adults underestimate their chances of getting pregnant if they don't use contraception. 27. New Oxford Shakespeare Master Workshop
In this workshop, participants will have an opportunity to discuss some of the various issues that arise in editing and performing Shakespeare's Plays with the on-site editors of The New Oxford Shakespeare. Topics include: early modern adaptation; editing drama as a multimedia art form; theatre as a form of research.

28. Hoosier Bard Productions: "Measure for Measure"
After the international success of The History of Cardenio, Hoosier Bard returns to the Fringe with a world-premiere double bill: Shakespeare's original Measure for Measure, set in Italy, uncensored, alongside the more familiar version, adapted by Thomas Middleton and set in Vienna.

See the newly restored Italian version on Feb 21, 22, 23,and the Viennese version on Feb 28 or March 1, 2.

34. Seeking Working Adults for Work-family Conflict Study
The IUPUI Psychology Department is searching for individuals to participate in a study of work-family conflict. If you are over the age of 18, work at least 20 hours per week outside the home, and have family responsibilities (dependents under the age of 18 living with you) you are invited to participate and may do so by clicking the link below. 35. Depression Study
Have you felt depressed, down, sad most of the time, or less interested in things or unable to enjoy things for the last 8 weeks? Do you feel that your response to your current antidepressant therapy is inadequate?

If yes, you may be eligible to take part in a study for depression being conducted by physicians at the Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Participation in the study will include weekly study visits over the course of up to 18 weeks.

Qualified subjects will receive study-related doctor visits, laboratory services, and investigational study medication free of charge.

36. Healthy Woman age 18-40?
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking healthy women between 18 and 40 years of age for a research study to better understand Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Two different profiles of women are being sought for study participation:

- Women with PCOS who have infrequent periods and a body mass index between 18 and 25.
-Women who do not have PCOS to serve as controls who have regular periods and a body mass index between 30 and 40.

37. Autism and Down Syndrome Research- Seeking Adult Siblings
- Are you a sibling of an adult (18+) with autism or Down syndrome?
- Would you enjoy contributing to scientific knowledge by describing what it has been like for you to have an adult sibling with autism or Down syndrome?

39. Healthy women with BMI of 30-40 needed for control group
IU Research Group is seeking subjects to serve as healthy controls for a study to better understand Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. You may be able to participate if: You are healthy, age 18-40, you have regular periods, you do not have excessive facial hair/acne, you are currently not pregnant or on birth control. 40. HPV Vaccination Study for Healthy People age 16-26
Healthy 16-26 year old men women are needed to test a new vaccine not approved by the FDA to prevent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections (the virus that sometimes causes genital warts and genital cancers). There will be 3 doses of vaccine given over 6 months with follow-up lasting approximately 1 year. Research is done at Indiana University Infectious Diseases Research at IUPUI. 41. African American Healthy Volunteers Needed for Brain Imaging Studies!
IU Psychotic Disorders Program seeks healthy volunteers to participate in a research study using brain scans (MRI). If you are: age 18-23, male, African-American, not on prescription medications, and have no psychiatric illness you may qualify. The study consists of questionnaires, an interview, and one MRI. You will be compensated for your time!

42. Research Study for Children with ADHD and TDD
Investigators at IU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry are conducting a research study for children aged 10-14 with suspected ADHD and mood swings. The study examines the effect of an FDA approved medication on a child's ability to regulate their emotions. This study involves 6 visits to Riley Hospital and 2 MRI brain scans. The first visit will be up to 6 hours, and the remaining visits will be approximately 1 hour. Participants will receive free mental health evaluations, free study medication, and will be compensated $210 to offset costs of time and travel if the study is fully completed. 43. Research Study for Children with ADHD, ODD, or Conduct Disorder
Investigators at IU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry are conducting a research study for children aged 10-14 with suspected ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or Conduct Disorder and healthy control children with no psychiatric disorders or addiction history in their family. The study examines a child's risk for drug addiction based on whether or not they have a father with a history of substance abuse. This study involves 1 visit to our clinic and up to 2 MRI brain scans. Call 317-948-3472 for more details.
