Undergraduate Majors : Biomedical Engineering Technology


Description

This degree program focuses on the support of medical devices and the technology involved in patient care. Students engage in coursework including electrical engineering technology, medical device systems, patient safety and regulations, organizational leadership and supervision, and communications skills for the clinical environment.


Admissions/Certification

For students admitted to University College or another IUPUI academic school other than Engineering & Technology, a student must meet the following requirements to certify into the School of Engineering and Technology:

  • 2.0 Minimum grade point average
  • Complete ENG-W 131
  • Ready to take Math 15300

What can you do with this major?

Most students find employment in a hospital or for a medical equipment manufacturer after graduation. If you are interested in medical school, consider the Biomedical Engineering degree instead.
