Purdue School of Engineering & Technology
Whether he's reading engineering blueprints or golf greens, Justin Wenger is an IUPUI standout.
Justin, a senior in the Purdue School of Engineering & Technology, has rung up almost as many academic honors as he has penciled in pars on his Jaguars scorecard during golf season. He was a third-team Academic All-American during the 2005-06 season in an awards program sponsored by ESPN The Magazine, and Justin earned the recognition by his spot on the Academic All-District V at-large first team for the season.
The Warren Central graduate, who will be a fifth-year senior in 2006-07, was one of IUPUI's "Top 100" students this past spring and is a three-time member of the Mid-Continent Conference’s all-academic honor squad. He also was named the league’s “Scholar-Athlete of the Year” for the 2005-06 school year.
Justin has been a success on the course, as well. He helped IUPUI earn an NCAA Tournament berth in the 2004-05 season and ranks among the career leaders in scoring average and rounds played. He was honored this spring as the Michael A. Scholarship winner for excellence in athletics, academics and community service.
Justin has built a 3.87 grade-point average in the demanding field of mechanical engineering, and won the school's "outstanding junior" and "outstanding senior" awards in that field the past two years.
