Indiana University Executive Vice President & IUPUI Chancellor

With the administrative restructuring of Indiana University by the Board of Trustees in January 2006, IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz acquired additional responsibilities as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Indiana University. Reporting directly to the President, the Executive Vice President assists the president in addressing the full range of university-level policy and administrative issues and has university-wide responsibility for providing coordination and consultative services to campus chancellors and academic vice chancellors.
The Executive Vice president is also responsible for
- monitoring the conduct of all undergraduate academic programs
- managing program and accreditation reviews
- reviewing proposed new undergraduate academic programs and organizational units
- acting as liaison to the Board of Trustees and the Indiana Commission for Higher Education on academic matters
- making promotion and tenure recommendations to the President (from IUPUI and the regional campuses).
The Executive Vice President also represents the university in a wide range of state and local professional, political, and community settings. By interacting with members of the surrounding community, as well as with local and state officials, the Executive Vice President and Chancellor of IUPUI helps the President to embed the institution into the life of the Indianapolis community and the state.
