| Overview | Informatics is smart computing. It's about building strong technical skills as well as understanding how we use technology to communicate, work, heal and play and to solve problems that are facing society and industry. As a student in the Undergraduate Informatics program, you will use your knowledge to develop ground-breaking IT solutions with real-world value in business, health care, science, art and entertainment. Informatics is a way to make a difference in the lives of others, so the focus of the program is on the social impact of computing – how people and technology connect. You will further customize your degree by selecting an area of specialization, where you will apply informatics in another discipline, such as biology, business, computer science, health science, human-computer interaction, law or new media. The Undergraduate Informatics program will help you prepare for an in-demand career that will take you wherever you want to go. |
