| Overview | This new major, believed to be the first of its kind in the U.S., teaches students when and how to deploy traditional and new media tools to achieve the goals of their communities, nonprofit organizations or businesses. Classes are an interdisciplinary mix of public affairs (such as government finance and budget; political action and civic engagement), journalism (public relations; visual communications), political science (voting and elections; modern political thought), informatics and liberal arts. |
