| Overview | The possibilities are numerous for TCEM graduates. Once students identify specific interest areas, they may become meeting/event professionals or managers of sports venues, conventions centers, conference centers or hotels.
International, national, state and local associations employ planners for meetings and conventions, as do association management companies. Convention and visitors bureaus and destination management companies are a good fit for many of our graduates. Attractions and cruise lines are also options. For students with a strong interest in technology, production companies and audio visual companies that produce mega events offer opportunities. Positions also exist for planners and contract negotiators within the medical, biotech and pharmaceutical segments. Creative marketing and sales opportunities are critical to increasing business within the hospitality industry. Incentive trip planners are often employed by large sales organizations such as insurance companies. Students also become travel and tour operators, or choose careers in transportation companies. And, as the global marketplace continues to expand, expertise is increasingly needed in the field of international travel and planning. |
