The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hall, dedicated in 2005, is the home of the Herron School of Art & Design. The building is named for the couple that helped the school build its new home and move to the IUPUI campus, and into the heart of the downtown Indianapolis arts corridor that includes the adjacent White River State Park. The 169,000-square-foot building more than tripled the space available to Herron's art students in the school's old facility at 16th and Pennsylvania streets. Eskenazi Hall features multiple galleries to fulfill the school's role as one of Indianapolis' major art venues, including the historic Herron Gallery.
