Melina Kennedy concentrates her practice at Baker & Daniels on public finance, economic development and environmental matters. Prior to joining Baker & Daniels she served as Deputy Mayor for Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson. She was director of economic development for the city from 2001 to 2004. As deputy mayor, Melina supervised the Departments of Public Works and Metropolitan Development, which combine for more than 900 employees and a budget of nearly $200 million, and counseled the Mayor on a variety of issues relating to municipal government and economic development.

Ms. Kennedy received her B.A. in Environmental Studies and History, her M.S. in Environmental Science and her J.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Legacy House and is a member of the Butler Business Accelerator Advisory Board.
