John Hardin is the owner of Hardin Farms which operates in Hendricks and Putnam counties. The business supplies pork for export to Japan and grows food grade identity preserved grain for the food processing industry.
Mr. Hardin is Vice-Chair of the Purdue University Board of Trustees and serves on the Board of the Purdue University Alumni Association. He is a past President of the National Pork Producers Council, and a past Chairman of the United States Meat Export Federation.
He has served as chairperson of the Agricultural Advisory Committee of the Chicago Board of Trade, and has been a cleared advisor on agricultural trade issues to the United States Trade Representative since 1991.
