Overview: The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is proud to build on a foundation of excellence in research, teaching and clinical services as we move into the 21st Century. Our faculty, students and staff have created a dynamic and collaborative environment that promotes scholarship and the advancement of knowledge.
Our department's training program has a 35-year record of excellence. Graduates of the department hold prominent and distinguished positions throughout the scientific community, and our faculty includes nine Diplomates of the American Board of Medical Genetics. We offer training programs leading to Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., and M.S. degrees in molecular genetics, cytogenetics, medical and dental genetics, biochemical genetics and population genetics. For more than ten years, the department has offered an M.S. in genetic counseling. The extensive clinical experience and comprehensive coursework of this program has led our graduates to great success on the American Board of Genetic Counseling certification exam.
