Some kids dream of being a firefighter or astronaut when they grow up. But when Tejaswini Vavilala was a child, her dream job was at the United Nations. Tejaswini, a journalism and public relations master’s graduate, fulfilled her lifelong dream by completing an internship with the media and communications branch of the U.N. From the course to the classroom, IUPUI men’s golf player Jose Pablo Segurola proves that hard work pays off. Segurola was named 2014–15 Scholar Athlete of the Year, the most prestigious honor awarded by the Summit League. As part of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Summer Internship program, IUPUI student Hannah Caito spent her summer using forensic science to make fairytales come to life for visitors at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
