This is a site with a great number of other useful links

Scientific
BloodLine
The Online Hematology Resource - online information resource for hematologists, oncologists, pathologists, researchers, and patients. Includes original reviews, forums, and many many links to other valuable sites.

National Center for Biotechnology Information
This site is provides access to all major nucleic acid databases as well as programs with which these databases can be analysed and searched. Also provided is a mechanism to submit new DNA sequences to GENBANK.

NCI CancerNet
Provides an information resource on medical and research aspects of cancer.

The Cytokine WEB
Provides leading edge scientific information about cytokines and their receptors. Also contains information about therapeutic uses for some human cytokines.

National Foundation for Infectious Diseases

Reference Reagents for Murine and Human Cytokines
Reagents available in small amounts for use in calibration of in vitro bioassays and standards.

American Society Bone Marrow Transplantation

Protein Data Bank (PDB) WWW Home Page
The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is an archive of experimentally determined three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules.

Nucleic Acid Databases
Access to numerous sequence databases courtesy of NIH.

Saccharomyces Genome Database
SGD is a scientific database of the molecular biology and genetics of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is commonly known as baker's or budding yeast.

BCM Search Launcher
The BCM Search Launcher is an on-going project to organize molecular biology-related search and analysis services available on the WWW by function by providing a single point-of-entry for related searches (e.g., a single page for launching protein sequence searches using standard parameters). Provided by the Human Genome Center at Baylor University.

ExPASy
This is the ExPASy molecular biology WWW server of the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB). This server is dedicated to the analysis of protein sequences and structures as well as 2-D PAGE .

American Type Culture Collection
This site provides electronic access to all of the reference and ordering information of the ATCC which includes cell lines, microbes, oncogene clones, ESTs and hybridomas.

European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL)
Link to the EMBL.

Pedro's BioMolecular Research Tools
Although somewhat dated, this site provides links to literally hundreds of DNA and protein analysis programs on the Web.

IBM Patent Database
With this World Wide Web server, IBM lets you access over 26 years of U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) patent descriptions as well as the last 23 years of images. The first entries date back to January 5, 1971. You can search, retrieve and study over two million patents. This link provides detailed, and free, on-line searches of the US patent database.

Literature Searches

PubMed
NLM's search service to access the 9 million citations in MEDLINE and Pre-MEDLINE (with links to participating on-line journals), and other related databases.

IU RLML Ovid Database System
Indiana University Ruth Lilly Medical Library Ovid Database System. A great way to do on-line literature searches with End-Note compatable results.

Hotwire press
Direct electronic access to many scientific journals. Allows downloading articles and figures as PDF files (requires Adobe Acrobat reader). Journals to which our University has subscriptions recognise our computer IP address and permit access to the articles.

Internet Grateful Med
In addition to MEDLINE, HealthSTAR, PREMEDLINE, and AIDSLINE, this version of Internet Grateful Med (IGM) offers free access to AIDSDRUGS, AIDSTRIALS, DIRLINE, HISTLINE, HSRPROJ, OLDMEDLINE, and SDILINE. Not as easy or convienient to use as the Ovid database on campus.

Indiana University School of Medicine Ruth Lilly Medical Library
Ruth Lilly Medical Library (RLML) maintains this site to provide information for the Indiana University School of Medicine.

www.idealibrary.com/IDEAL is an online electronic library containing all 175 Academic Press journals. Abstracts and tables of contents are presented in HTML and full-text articles are delivered in Adobe Acrobat format.

biomednet.com
"BioMedNet... offers a wealth of free and fee-based resources - souped up MEDLINE searching, journals, news, job listings, and more." Jocelyn Kaiser, Net Watch - Science Magazine.

Funding/Granting Agencies

GrantsNet
Scientists in training -- grad students, postdocs, and junior faculty members are especially vulnerable in this era of competitive funding. To help, AAAS and HHMI have teamed up to create a new searchable database of biomedical funding options. This database will have over 350 programs by year-end. Sign up for funding updates!
