Accessing the IUIS
Student Systems
NOTE: All icons are representative only. You should read your
screen to determine the exact items you need.
Introduction
You do not need an assigned UserID or password to access basic
information on IUIS, a computer in Bloomington containing a wide variety
of administrative and student data. However, certain information will
require an identification number and PIN due to the secure content of
some of the data.
This document details:
Refer to Accessing the Mainframes Using Kermit
for an explanation of the dial-up numbers and instruction for
connecting to the mainframes.

Accessing IUIS from Home using PPP
There are two basic ways of accessing IUIS from home. The first requires a
basic Telnet application. The second requires a special 3270 Emulator.
Establish a connection with IUPUI Dial-In as described in
Network Access from Home.

NOTE: You will need a 3270 Emulator program in order to
access the IUIS system through this method.

- At the USE/STUDENT (upper left corner) menu, type: M
Press ENTER
- From the main IUIS menu, type: K
Press ENTER
- Finishing the Session
- If you are using Windows, choose:
SESSION : Exit
- If you are using Macintosh, choose:
FILE : Quit
