on a SIP listserve. Participants may then: 1. Receive emails from
other participants requesting information and/or advice on personal
questions that they may have. 2. Post requests for information and/or
advice they may desire.
Participants receiving request for information and/or advice have
three options. They may:

2. Reply with a request for clarification
and/or additional information.
3. Disregard and delete the request.
Participants may request personal advice or information by posting

AD-HOC COMMITTEE
By-Laws: Bernice Hopp, Chair reported for committee
members, Carl Rothe and Sheldon Siegel. Jim East attended the monthly
meetings held since January. The Senior Academy began in 1994. This
13th revision of the IUPUI Senior Academy By-Laws was mailed to
Board members for review. Additional copies are available today.
The Committee resolved in the revision process to produce a working
document for the 21st century. We looked to the past for signs of
weakness and endeavored to produce a document to provide continuous
and strong leadership in the future. This report was written to
provide guidance and clarity for operation to Board members and
all Academy members. Many emails were exchanged and drafts typed
as the revision evolved and was woven together. Carl Rothe and Jim
East contributed enormously to this project. Today we are proud
to present our labors to you and seek your approval.
Discussion followed. Corrections were made in Article III-Membership
and in Article IV-Governance and recorded. A motion was made to
accept the revision of the By-Laws. It was seconded. There were
12 votes in favor of the By-Laws and one vote in abstention. The
By-Laws passed. Copies of the revised By-Laws of IUPUI Senior Academy
will be available at the Annual Meeting.
There was no further Old or New Business.
ADJOURNMENT: It was moved, seconded and unanimous
to adjourn the meeting at 11:30 A.M.
Respectfully submitted by Bernice Hopp, Secretary
