SOPs for "Investigational Drug Accountability" and "Investigational Device Accountability" Available for Public Comment; Comment Period Closed on Previous SOPs
A third release of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing the policies and procedures for all human subjects research being conducted by researchers whose work is subject to review and approval by the IUPUI/Clarian Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) was published online for public comment on Nov 11, 2002. The new comment period will close on Dec 11, 2002. After the last release of the Indiana University Electronic Research Administration (ERA) System Budget Module (October 2002), a bug was discovered that affects Netscape 4.7X users. Netscape 4.7X users will find that the top half of the Personnel Detail page will not be displayed due to this bug.

Holiday Closing Information for Research and Graduate Education

Thanksgiving
The IUPUI Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2002 and reopen Monday, December 2, 2002 with regular business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Christmas 2002/New Year 2003
The IUPUI Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will close at 12:00 PM on December 24, 2002 and reopen January 2, 2003 with regular business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Additional information is provided for the following Research and Sponsored Programs offices:

Research Compliance Administration (IRB/IBC)
If there is a life-threatening emergency which necessitates the use of an investigational agent, please call University Hospital Pharmacy at 274-0362.
Sponsored Program Administration
Proposals with a postmark or receipt date of January 2 or earlier must be received by R&SP no later than December 19, 2002. Proposals with a postmark or receipt date of January 3 or 4 must be received no later than December 23, 2002. Proposals will not be processed during the holiday period.
