Task Force Ready to Roll Out SOPs on Research with Human Subjects
In January 2001 a task force was appointed by Dr. Mark Brenner, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education, IUPUI, to review and organize the existing IUPUI and Clarian Health Partners operational procedures pertaining to research with human subjects into a standardized format. The task force is now ready to publicize the new standard operating procedures (SOPs). All communications, introducing each SOP and inviting comment from the IUPUI/Clarian research community, will be published in the R&SP Communicator. According to Brenner, "…the SOPs will strengthen our commitment to protect human research subjects and provide guidelines for all IUPUI/Clarian researchers to follow in the conduct of their research." For additional information, see http://www.iupui.edu/~res-poly/human-sop/communication-1.htm
