Complete Details Clarification Regarding Compliance Training for Researchers At the December 14, 2004 HIPAA Security/21CFR Part 11 training conducted by Leslie Pfeffer and Dr. Sharon Moe at the ROC Auditorium, it was mistakenly announced that training would be available on the Web or online. This is not the case. The availability for training for both HIPAA Security and 21 CFR Part 11 is listed in the Complete Details section. OHRP Guidance Results in Revised Follow-up Consent for Subject Withdrawing from a Study The IUPUI/Clarian IRB Executive Committee consulted the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) seeking guidance on a research study practice pertaining to the collection of information on subjects after they have terminated their participation in a study. The current National Cancer Institute (NCI) informed consent template language allows data collection to continue after subject termination. OHRP recommends that the language be modified to enable subjects to exercise their option to allow or refuse the continuation of data collection. Complete Details Expertise Added to IRB-04 Due to the increasing number of studies being conducted in the area of psychiatry, additional psychiatry representation has been included on IRB-04. Beginning in 2005, studies submitted from the psychiatry department may now be submitted to either IRB-04 or IRB-05. |
