The documents that you must provide vary depending on the type of funding support you have.
If you have more than one source of support, each sponsor must complete the
appropriate Financial Support Agreement form on your behalf.
Funding from sponsor other than applicant (Family, Friends and/or Organization Funds):
All financial sponsors must complete page 2 of the Financial Support Agreement form or provide an
equivalent formal statement of sponsorship. Total sponsor support must cover at a minimum the first academic year although the sudent is expected to have sufficient financial support planned for the entire duration of
your studies at IUPUI : at least two years for an associate’s degree, four years for a
bachelor’s degree, two years for a meater's, two and one-half years for a master's with a thesis and five/six years for a Phd. degree.

Sponsor (Family or Friend): Each sponsor must provide evidence of sufficient funds for at
least the first year of the applicant’s study plus verification of income as evidence of
sufficient funding to cover the remaining year(s) of promised support.
- If you will be living with family or friends in the Indianapolis area while
attending IUPUI, your host should indicate the specific level of support provided towards
your living expenses and the number of years the support is offered.

Sponsor (Organization): A promise of sponsorship can be stated on the sponsoring organization’s
letterhead. The statement should be specific to the degree program at IUPUI and include the duration of sponsorship including the guaranteed
dollar amount for a specified period of years or for the duration of study. Alternatively, the
statement can specify the specific type of support provided (i.e. Housing).
Funding from applicant’s personal finances (Self):

As the applicant, you must complete page 2 of the Financial Support Agreement form. If you are
providing bank statements that are in your own name only, you must show enough funds on deposit
for at a minimum the first academic year of your studies although you should have a plan for.
Funding from applicant’s personal finances and other funds:
- If you will be partially self-supported and partially supported through other sources,
your personal bank statement must show the total of your contribution for the first academic year. Your sponsor’s bank statement needs to show enough money on deposit to cover the promised
support for the first year.
