UPCOMING EVENTS

12 April - Planning meeting for Immigration and Workers' Rights March - Jobs with Justice, the Justice for Immigrants Coalition, and Justice for Janitors are just a few groups working to make this year's Immigration march a tremendous success. The more people we have helping plan, the better! Please join us for this planning meeting at St. Mary's downtown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12.

13-14 April - Third Annual Midwest Peace and Justice Summit brings together students, community activists and concerned citizens to share ideas and work cooperatively for positive social and political change. Presented by the Indiana Peace and Justice Network. This is an all day event on Friday and Saturday. Jobs with Justice will have a table both days, with information and goodies for passersby. For more information, please click here.

18 April - Support Indy's Janitors in their struggle for recognition of their rights as workers. Jobs with Justice, SEIU Local #3, and local faith and community members will gather on the south side of Monument Circle to protest EMS (Executive Management Services) for their refusal to respect the rights of their workers at Market Tower. Your support is vital to let EMS know that their deplorable practices anger more people than just their workers --they anger a community. Please join us at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 18th and let EMS know that workers in a world class city deserve more.

28 April - 16th Annual EARTH DAY Celebration at Veterans Memorial Plaza downtown. This is a great event for everyone, especially families with children. Click here for more information on Earth Day 2007. And then come out and enjoy the day with members of Central Indiana Jobs with Justice.

1 May - Immigration and Workers' Rights March. This event promises to be as successful as last year, bringing well over 20,000 people to downtown Indianapolis. Across the nation we're marching again in support of both fair and comprehensive immigration reform, as well as recognition of the rights of all workers. Central Indiana Jobs with Justice is partnering with Father Tom Fox and the Justice for Immigrants Coalition, as well as several other local groups and invididuals, to publicize the event and moblize the Indianapolis community to stand up for the rights of ALL its citizens. Participants should meet at St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st. The March begins at 6:00 p.m. If you are interesting in helping plan this event, you are welcome to attend the next scheduled meeting on April 12.
