Dr.
Connor, ICIC Director, is a leading researcher in intercultural
communication and linguistics and has published widely on languages
and cultures. Recipient of many research grants, Dr. Connor is most
recently co-editor of Contrastive rhetoric: Reaching to intercultural rhetoric (2008) and author of Contrastive rhetoric: Crosscultural aspects
of second language writing (1996).
She has taught and lectured in many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.
William
Rozycki, Associate Director

Dr. William
Rozycki earned a Ph.D. in Central Asian Studies with a linguistics
minor from Indiana University. His specialties include technical
communications and technical editing, and English for Specific Purposes.
He spent 14 years as an ESL instructor in Japan and Korea, teaching
in both university settings and for business and industry. Among
other publications, Dr. Rozycki is co-compiler of a textbook for
Korean middle school students, and chief editor of a Web-based one-year
course of English to prepare Japanese students for admission to
American colleges.
Honnor Orlando, Assistant Director of Training

Ms. Honnor Orlando received her M.A. in English as a Second Language from the University of Hawaii-Manoa (UH) and taught ESL within the UH system for many years. She serves as the ICIC lead instructor for the training programs. In this position, she designs and leads detailed ESP programs matched to the needs of groups and individual participants. Honnor also lived and taught in Japan for three years and has returned there for various short-term programs since that time.
Lori Bruns, Program Coordinator
Ms. Lori Bruns received both her B.A. in English and M.A. in TESOL from IUPUI. She has taught ESL classes at IUPUI since 2006 and is the new program coordinator for ICIC.
The
ICIC research team also includes experts in language, communication,
and business from the Indiana University and Purdue University campuses,
as well as international colleagues.
ICIC
Associates
ICIC associates and advisors include academics and professionals
from a wide variety of fields, including organizational communication,
foreign languages, business and economics, philanthropic fund raising,
political science, intercultural communication, technical and professional
writing, English, anthropology, and applied linguistics. These associates
and advisors work together to develop and focus the research and
products of the center.
